Nagasaki is a great city. We went there for a day trip in November. You can see the bay from everywhere! There’s also a handy street car system, much like San Francisco.
Novemeber seems to be the time for festivals in our area. Besides the Takeo fall festival, we also went to the Kunchi Festival in Karatsu (in the very north of our prefecture). The festival revolved around pulling giant floats through town amid thousands of onlookers. We hear half a million people come to this every year.

This event is the most famous festival in our prefecture. Every year balloonists from all over Japan and the world come to Saga and do balloony stuff. Unfortunately, the weather crapped out the whole weekend. It was still most exciting.
